Over 1,000 Bugs Already Fixed!

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a brand new release that has burst into the list of the gaming industry’s greatest RPGs. With thousands of hours of content and ending combinations, the game lives up to the high standards of RPG releases, setting new standards in some cases.

A nearly flawless track record has led to a massive success for Larian Studios. Baldur’s Gate 3 players have accumulated over 200 million hours of playtime in just three weeks since its launch.

This comes out to approximately 22,000 years. However, Larian Studios is not satisfied yet and is committed to improving the experience for all players. The game’s first patch has already addressed over 1000 bugs.

Why it matters: This is an extremely large patch for a particularly large game, which fits the legacy and scope of Baldur’s Gate 3.

In addition to several fixes, the patch improves the level scaling of the RPG and more. The complete list of bug fixes can be seen on the official website.

Following the patch, Baldur’s Gate 3 has received changes to game balance, cinematic scenes, currency, and even the credits. As such, the entire game has received a slight overhaul after the patch.

While this patch is very fresh, Larian Studios has already confirmed that a second patch is right around the corner. This patch will ensure similar improvements to performance on PC.

Fortunately for console users, all of these improvements will transition to the PS5 release on September 6. Larian Studios has also confirmed a release for the Xbox Series S|X.

Despite issues with split-screen co-op, the game is headed to the Microsoft consoles this year, and fans can expect these improvements to be featured in the Xbox console release.

To address the Xbox Series S issues, Phil Spencer determined that removing this feature from the Xbox Series S was the most practical course of action. However, the gaming giant confirms that the mechanic is still in the works for the budget console.

The latest update improves an already unparalleled addition to the RPG genre in 2023.

Before release, Larian Studios made it clear that Baldur’s Gate 3 would break new ground in terms of scope and scale for RPG releases. Such ambitions have helped the game become the best-rated release of 2023.
