Exclusive For Epic Games And Ubisoft Connect!

The first gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage debuted at the PlayStation Showcase on May 24th. The two-minute trailer was filled with nostalgia as it showcased the traditional Assassin’s Creed gameplay set in the bustling streets of Baghdad.

Following the gameplay trailer, the official release date for the game was announced as October 12th, 2023. Additionally, the official website of the game has been updated to reveal some intriguing information.

Notably, it states the platforms, hinting that the game will not be available on Steam for PC.

Why it matters: Steam is undoubtedly the largest platform for PC users and their go-to for purchasing new games. Fans of the franchise who are accustomed to using Steam will be disappointed to learn that the game will not be accessible on this platform.

Aside from PlayStation, Xbox, and Amazon Luna, the game will exclusively launch on Ubisoft Connect, Ubisoft’s proprietary game launcher, and the Epic Games Store for PC users.

The previous game, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, was not initially available on Steam upon its launch but eventually became accessible on the platform. However, many had expected that Ubisoft would return to Steam after the recent slew of games on the platform.

Still, the various Ubisoft releases on Steam recently imply that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will eventually be released on the platform. This also suggests that Epic might have had an exclusivity agreement with Ubisoft.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage returns to the franchise’s roots by departing from the new RPG elements and adopting a more grounded and stealthy approach. The game utilizes Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s engine but is expected to be a more compact experience.

The game will be based around Basim from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, exploring his origins as an Assassin in his homeland, Baghdad. The hype for the game is at an all-time high, particularly among fans of the older titles.
