Armored Core 6 Sales Top 2.8 Million Units

Best Selling Armored Core To Date!

Armored Core 6 has revived FromSoftware’s old franchise. With a new entry arriving earlier in August, the studio has further expanded its portfolio, offering a wide variety of games.

Last year, the studio found incredible success with Elden Ring, which went on to sell 20 million units. While such success was never expected for Armored Core 6, the latest sales figures have been encouraging for FromSoftware.

According to a voice actor, Armored Core 6 has sold over 2.8 million units.

Why it matters: This is an impressive result for a franchise that has been absent from the industry, highlighting the relevance and prestige of FromSoftware.

The sales figure was revealed by voice actor Ryo Shimokawa, who attended a post-launch party for the game. He elaborated that the game had already sold 1.3 million units by September.

This milestone makes it by far the best-selling Armored Core game to date. It has sold much better than every previous iteration combined, accounting for over 50% of the total sales of FromSoftware’s franchise.

On Steam, the game had already reached the best-sellers leading up to release. Because of this anticipation and positive critical reception, Armored Core 6 was already shaping up to be a success before release.

The game launched to an average of 86/100 on Metacritic, making it the highest-rated title of the series. All of these elements have come together for another major success for the Japanese developer.

Armored Core 6

We believe that Armored Core 6 is one of the best mech games available on the market. Its blend of movement and fast-paced combat delivers a unique experience bolstered by FromSoftware’s expertise.

We also think much of the game’s success comes from the current popularity of the Japanese studio. Games like Dark Souls and Elden Ring have ensured that nearly every future title from the team will continue to attract millions of players.

Armored Core 6 is a must-play for those who have enjoyed the mech genre in the past. Following this release, FromSoftware is gearing up for the Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, expected to arrive in early 2024.
