One of the most anticipated games, A Plague Tale: Requiem, has finally launched, and it’s receiving consistently good reviews. The main bump in the game is its beautiful visuals and some combat style improvements, as pointed out by various early reviews.

However, the stealth-oriented play style is still the same as in A Plague Tale: Innocence. A Plague: Tale Requiem was in the news recently as a Spanish gamer who got his hands early on the game reported that the game doesn’t reach the 60FPS mark, and the performance mode is missing PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S consoles.

The game was released today, and a better in-depth comparison of the game’s performance on different consoles was revealed.

YouTube video

As the above performance comparison video shows, the frame rate that the game can achieve is around 40FPS on 1440p resolution at 120Hz. The 40FPS mark is only achievable if you have a 120Hz display, though the game even struggles to maintain constant 40FPS in most areas on all consoles. Below you can find a list of the supported resolution of each console and targeted frame rates;

  • Xbox Series S: 1080p/30fps | 40fps on 120hz
  • Xbox Series X: 1440p/30fps | 40fps on 120hz
  • PS5: 1440p/30fp | 40fps on 120hz

The Xbox Series X has also received a patch version 1.2.0 for the game, which is around 10.8GB, making 52GB the total game size after the patch. It should be noted that a performance mode is not inevitable and might be added to a game shortly through a patch as the developers are aware of the issues with the game and have acknowledged that a post-launch update will fix the problems.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S through Xbox Game Pass and PC. Have you played the game? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
