Ryzen 7000 3D V-Cache: AMD Reportedly Planning To Offer 8, 12 & 16 Core Variants

AMD Is Planning Three 3D V-Cache Processors!

It should not be surprising that AMD will soon release a 3D V-Cache variant of the Ryzen 7000 series processors. But unlike its predecessor, the new 3D V-Cache version will not be limited to 8 cores only.

It has been reported that AMD is planning to launch three variants, including 8 cores, 12 cores, and 16 cores chips. The 3D V-Cache version of the Ryzen 7000 series will also have a similar base and boost clocks, so we should expect it to reach a boost clock of 5.7 GHz.

According to a reliable source, @harukaze5719 AMD is planning to launch Ryzen 7800X3D with 8 cores, Ryzen 7900X3D with 12 cores, and Ryzen 7950X3D with 16 cores. There is no mention of a six-core variant that would replace the 7600X just yet, but AMD might decide to go with 7600X3D in the future to target the next-generation lineup from Intel.

Furthermore, AMD is also reported to equip its top-the-line chip, the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, with 192MB of L3 Cache, which is twice as much compared to the Ryzen 5800X3D.

The power draw on the upcoming 3D V-Cache lineup from AMD will also be much higher than the Ryzen 7000 series. There is no official launch date on the 3D V-Cache lineup from AMD, but it is reported to come out next year in January, probably at CES 2023.

As for the pricing, AMD might sell the 3D V-Cache variants similar to the current Ryzen 7000 lineup and discount the non-3D V-Cache series further.

Currently, AMD and Intel are performing quite similarly regarding their respective performance. Still, with the launch of 3D V-Cache variants of the Ryzen 7000 series, AMD will again gain its title of being the fastest chip manufacturer.

What are your thoughts on AMD’s upcoming 3D V-Cache Ryzen 7000 lineup?
