[Press Release] IQUNIX is preparing to launch the EV63 EDG Edition, a competitive gaming keyboard developed in collaboration with EDward Gaming (EDG), one of the most recognized teams in VALORANT esports. The new edition combines the EV63’s Hall Effect technology with EDG’s signature black-and-gold design, commemorative keycaps, and performance adjustments based on five rounds of joint tuning.
Following the release of the EV63 Ghost in the Shell Edition and the EC75 Hall Effect Gaming Keyboard earlier this year, the upcoming EV63 EDG Edition adds another collaboration to IQUNIX’s keyboard lineup. It focuses on competitive performance while celebrating EDG’s achievements in professional VALORANT.
Although IQUNIX has shared several technical details, the company has yet to confirm the keyboard’s official release date and pricing.
The EV63 EDG Edition builds on the existing EV63 Hall Effect keyboard, a model used by professional VALORANT teams, including EDG, Wolves Esports, and MIBR. Players such as Grim, Fyr, gokedTV, Subroza, Fugu, and Hiko have also been associated with the keyboard.
For this special edition, IQUNIX and EDG completed five rounds of joint tuning based on real gameplay feedback. The process focused on input consistency and responsiveness, two factors that can matter in competitive shooters where players rely on precise movement and quick directional changes.
Rather than relying on cosmetic changes alone, the collaboration introduces Timing Synchronization System (TSS) technology alongside the keyboard’s existing performance features.
EDG Edition Features a Black-and-Gold Design

The keyboard’s visual design draws directly from EDG’s team identity. Its black-and-gold finish extends across the keycaps and printed case details, while several exclusive elements commemorate the team’s competitive history.
The EV63 EDG Edition includes a star emblem celebrating EDG’s victory at VALORANT Champions 2024. It also features a commemorative keycap for the team’s 2026 VCT China Stage 1 title, connecting the keyboard to another milestone in its esports journey.
Two CNC-machined metal keycaps feature enamel detailing and gold accents. The design also includes soft-touch frosted PC keycaps, adding a different surface feel to the keyboard.
Fans will also receive six EDG player cards capturing moments from the team’s 2026 league season. Exclusive keycaps with raised player signatures add another personal touch, strengthening the edition’s connection to the people behind the team’s competitive achievements.
Together, these additions distinguish the EDG Edition from a standard EV63. The keyboard is designed to appeal to competitive players who want its technical features, as well as EDG fans who want to collect merchandise tied to the team’s history.
New TSS Technology
One of the main additions to the IQUNIX EV63 EDG Edition is its Timing Synchronization System, developed around feedback from EDG.
TSS aligns keyboard input processing with the PC’s USB polling cycle. The goal is to make input timing more consistent and predictable, reducing variation in how keystrokes are processed.
This approach matters for competitive games like VALORANT, where players often rely on precise movement and quick counter-strafing. More predictable input timing can create a more consistent control experience, though results depend on the full system, including the game, PC configuration, and other sources of input latency.
IQUNIX has not provided enough independent testing data to establish how much TSS improves performance compared with other high-end gaming keyboards. Its practical benefits will need to be assessed through testing under comparable conditions.
HyperCore V3.1 With Low Actuation and Release Latency

The EV63 EDG Edition uses HyperCore V3.1 firmware, with IQUNIX highlighting its performance in both actuation and release latency tests.
According to the company’s reported results, the keyboard achieves actuation latency of 0.29–0.30 milliseconds and release latency of 0.26–0.27 milliseconds. These figures cover two distinct parts of the input process.
Actuation latency measures the delay associated with registering a keypress, while release latency concerns the delay associated with registering a key returning to its inactive state. Both can matter in fast-paced games that require repeated inputs or rapid changes in direction.
Release response is especially relevant to counter-strafing in VALORANT, where players must manage movement inputs carefully to regain accuracy. Responsive actuation and release can support precise control, although keyboard latency alone does not determine overall responsiveness.
IQUNIX also lists several other specifications for the EV63 EDG Edition, including 8,000 Hz polling, 16,000 Hz scanning, and 0.01 mm Rapid Trigger.
The 8,000 Hz polling rate means the keyboard can report its input state at intervals of approximately 0.125 milliseconds under the stated operating conditions. The 16,000 Hz scanning rate refers to how frequently the keyboard scans its inputs. These are separate measurements, and neither should be treated as a direct guarantee of end-to-end latency.
Rapid Trigger allows a key to reset based on movement rather than requiring it to return to a fixed reset point. With a stated sensitivity of 0.01 mm, the EV63 offers highly granular adjustment for players who want to fine-tune their movement inputs. Actual performance can vary depending on settings, firmware, and testing methodology.
Gamepad Mode Adds Analog Input Support

The IQUNIX EV63 EDG Edition also supports Gamepad Mode, which lets keypress depth represent different input levels in supported games.
Traditional keyboard inputs are generally digital, meaning a key is either pressed or released. Analog input can provide more gradual control, allowing players to vary movement speed or adjust acceleration instead of relying exclusively on full-strength inputs.
For example, players may be able to control throttle intensity in a racing game or adjust movement in a title that supports analog controller input. This feature could make the keyboard useful beyond competitive shooters, where precise directional movement is often the primary focus.
However, analog functionality depends on game compatibility and the keyboard’s configuration. That doesn’t mean every game will automatically support variable-depth inputs.
Smart Switch Adaptation Supports Hall Effect Switches
Switch customization is another part of the EV63 platform. IQUNIX says its Smart Switch Adaptation feature automatically recognizes 99% of mainstream Hall Effect switches, making it easier to experiment with compatible alternatives.
Hall Effect keyboards use magnetic sensing to detect key movement rather than relying on conventional mechanical electrical contacts. Depending on the keyboard’s hardware and firmware, this technology enables features such as adjustable actuation points and Rapid Trigger.
The EV63 EDG Edition also uses Magnetic X Ultra switches, which are designed to provide stronger magnetic flux and improved signal stability.
Smart Switch Adaptation could make switch replacement more convenient for enthusiasts who want to adjust their keyboard’s feel or experiment with different Hall Effect options. However, the stated 99% compatibility figure comes from IQUNIX, and the company has not provided an independently verified compatibility list covering every supported switch.
