- Voices38 has successfully cracked Resident Evil Requiem, making it the first 2026 title using Denuvo to be available for piracy.
- Interestingly, the Capcom title was cracked without needing a hypervisor layer, making it a clean and proper old-school crack.
- Voices38 also revealed that the anti-tamper’s new version only had two additional features compared to the 2025 edition used in Doom: The Dark Ages.
The debate around the Denuvo DRM has been going on for a while now as modern titles continue to implement the anti-tamper tech. Despite analysis showing that Denuvo does impact performance, games like Crimson Desert, Pragmata, and the global phenomenon Resident Evil Requiem continue to use it.
Developers use the technology because it makes piracy harder, even though many gamers complain about the performance downsides of Denuvo. However, despite the DRM’s protection, someone has managed to crack Resident Evil Requiem just a month after its launch.
Why it matters: Cracking Denuvo-protected games without a hypervisor has been a challenge. Hence, the method used by voices38 for the horror game is definitely an innovation.

On Reddit, voices38 revealed that he has cracked Resident Evil Requiem, making it the first 2026 Denuvo game available for piracy. Alongside Doom: The Dark Ages, the Capcom title has joined a small list of games with the anti-tamper tech to be cracked cleanly.
What makes this crack special is that voices38 did not use the hypervisor bypass method. This Resident Evil Requiem crack used the old-school approach to get through Denuvo, not a workaround that is beta-quality, while also being a higher security risk.
Hypervisor cracks had become a very popular way to bypass Denuvo protection, so much so that the company had to release countermeasures to fight off this method. However, voices38 cracked Resident Evil Requiem cleanly in only two weeks, making it run properly without any workarounds or a hypervisor layer.

On Reddit, he also revealed that the 2026 Denuvo DRM only had two new features compared to last year’s edition used by Doom: The Dark Ages.
Will we see more Denuvo releases get cracked easily now, considering voices38 has managed to get through Resident Evil Requiem in a clean and proper manner? Tell us in the comments below or head to the Tech4Gamers forum for discussion.
