Amid All The Burning Connector Issues With Other Vendor cards

Story Highlight
  • Nvidia’s Founders Edition GPUs were some of the most reliable GPUs from the last year.
  • The FE cards had a failure rate of just 0.25%, with Asus and PNY taking the next spots.
  • Amid all the connector issues, these GPUs could be your best bet for reliability.

Nvidia has been dominating the GPU market for the longest time. Unfortunately, recent generations have had glaring issues, such as burnt connectors from various vendors, which have led fans to be wary of spending thousands on them.

A tech firm has revealed that Nvidia’s RTX 50 Founders Edition GPUs were the most reliable cards in 2025, amid connector issues. They had the lowest failure rate, and Asus and PNY cards came next.

Why it matters: If you want a reliable card with the least chance of failures, the Founders Edition cards could be your best bet; however, based on the current market, they are quite difficult to come by.

RTX 50 FE cards crowned the most reliable GPUs of 2025

Puget Systems notes that Nvidia Founders Edition GPUs were the most reliable cards in 2025, with just 0.25% failure rate. They were followed by Asus with a 0.40% failure rate and PNY with just 0.45%.

The 12V-2×6 connector on the top-tier RTX cards is known to cause issues. We’ve had many cases over the years, but those issues seem nearly nonexistent with Nvidia’s self-made Founders Edition cards.

This comes amid multiple reports of burnt connectors with other vendor cards.

The latter have always been more reliable, thanks to high-quality materials, robust power delivery, and over-engineering. While they may not look as flashy as other vendor cards, the data show they’ll last longer.

Furthermore, according to the report, AMD and Intel had equally reliable CPUs with a negligible failure rate. However, the firm noted that results may vary across areas, but the consensus remains the same.
