2025 has blessed gamers with a flurry of great releases, with generation titles like Expedition 33 making it a year to remember. Arguably the most ambitious game this year was none other than Death Stranding 2 from Hideo Kojima.
The Japanese auteur somehow outdid himself once again by creating one of the best sequels in the medium’s history. And now, millions of PC players will get to play the action-adventure title sooner rather than later.
Why It Matters: A universally acclaimed title like Death Stranding 2 deserves to be experienced by a broad player base.

The ESRB has rated Death Stranding 2: On the Beach for PC, hinting that a release on the platform is nearby. The game is unsurprisingly rated Mature 17+ due to strong language, violence, and a lot of bloody gore just like the PS5 version.
PC players have been clamoring to play Death Stranding 2 ever since its initial release in June. And, they won’t have to wait a lot longer as historically ESRB ratings come to fruition in a few months, just like Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox Series.
The Kojima Productions sequel has earned universal acclaim, raising the bar for video game visuals, with many even mistaking the photo-realistic characters for real life.

In addition, more than 80% of users continued playing even after finishing the game, which is extremly uncommon. But unsurprisingly, Hideo Kojima was still unhappy with this result as he considers Death Stranding 2 just ok.
Sony could also use the extra profit from the PC port as the lack of sales numbers for Death Stranding 2 suggests that it is struggling to meet internal expectations set by the company.
