Star Wars Outlaws Flopped So Bad It Was Outsold By Jedi Survivor Last Year

No Wonder Ubisoft Is Considering A Sellout!

Story Highlight
  • Ubisoft, nearing the end of 2024, revealed that it’s one of the biggest games disappointed commercially.
  • The game received a lot of hate from the fandom, and due to that, its sales were abysmal.
  • The sales were so bad that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor outsold it across Europe in 2024.

Last year, Ubisoft confirmed that Star War Outlaws underperformed, which caused the company to lose a bunch of its value. Ubisoft has been launching poor games for a while now, and the damage was being stacked up until Outlaws’ release.

This game caused a massive blow to Ubisoft, and you can see the company’s current condition. However, Outlaws was way too big of a failure that any of us could have imagined.

Star Wars Outlaws flopped so badly that it was outsold by Jedi Survivor, which was released in 2023.

Why it matters: A 2024 game being outsold by a game released in the prior year proved how badly it performed. No wonder the company is in such poor condition and is seemingly betting everything on Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Star Wars Outlaws
Ubisoft’s Recent Star Wars Title Flopped Way Worse Than We Could Have Imagined

Recently, VGC released its report on Ubisoft’s condition, claiming that the crisis has deepened and is inevitable now. Our thorough report also concluded that the company will most likely go bankrupt in 2025.

Christopher Ding mentioned the reasons for its current condition. While, of course, Skull and Bones and Xdefiant played a huge role in that, Star Wars Outlaws, a game that is considered fun by many, stuck a blow that Ubisoft may never recover from

Across Europe, the game was the 47th best-selling game of the year and sold less than Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which was released the year before.

The game is actually based on a major IP, and despite that, it flopped. Ding revealed that the game sold even worse than Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in Europe. The latter was released in 2023, while Outlaws was released last year.

Ubisoft Bankruptcy
Following A Series of Failed Releases, Ubisoft May Go Bankrupt This Year, Mainly Depending On How AC Shadows Perform

Now, it is understandable why Ubisoft rushed to delay Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Not only that, the company just recently delayed it again, and as of now, it will be implementing player feedback.

It also seems to have improved Outlaws a lot, but still, its release on Steam didn’t attract many players, even though it was released with a hefty discount

A recent report from the company has also revealed that Ubisoft is looking for potential buyouts as it delays Shadows once again.
