A New World of Warcraft Or A Brand New IP?

Story Highlight
  • Blizzard Entertainment is currently hiring for an unannounced game.
  • The ideal candidate should have experience with f2p and strategy games.
  • This could point to a new World of Warcraft game or an entirely new IP.

Blizzard Entertainment is no stranger to strategy games. It is behind one of the biggest franchises in the genre, World of Warcraft. We spotted a job listing for a Lead Product Manager, suggesting that it is working on an unannounced Free-to-Play strategy game

Why it matters: The listing doesn’t reveal whether it’s a brand-new IP or a new addition to the World of Warcraft franchise. But considering the scope of it, we wouldn’t be surprised if it does translate into a World of Warcraft game.

Blizzard Entertainment is hiring a ‘Lead Product Manager’ for an unannounced game.

According to a job listing we detected, Blizzard Entertainment is hiring for a ‘Lead Product Manager’ for an unannounced game. While this hardly provides anything, the listing further states that the candidate should have experience building and managing F2P games

It further reads that the manager should have an understanding of strategy games to improve player experiences. Connecting all the dots point toward a new World of Warcraft game, or an entirely new IP but similar to the latter.

The unannounced game will be a f2p strategy project

However, the last World of Warcraft was released just a few months ago. But, based on the history, Blizzard has released new entries into the franchise at short intervals. Therefore, we could be looking at a new one getting announced soon

But if it is indeed a new IP, Blizzard now has a lot of active projects. These include Overwatch 2, StarCraft, and this one. This is despite all the layoffs happening at the company and the future of their projects being very uncertain.
