Closest Thing To An L.A. Noire Sequel We Can Get!

Story Highlights
  • A new leak has revealed that the L.A. Noire creators are working on a spiritual successor to the game.
  • The title has been named ‘Swoden House’ after one of the prime locations of the first game.
  • This game is described as a psychological thriller set in the 1940s.

In 2011, Team Bondi and Rockstar Games collaborated to launch L.A. Noire. While many initially disliked the title, it eventually became a hit with audiences. According to a new leak, something special is in the works for fans of this IP.

A new leak has revealed that developers from the same team could be working on a spiritual successor to L.A. Noire.

Why it matters: Fans have been requesting the studios to return to the franchise as it presented something out of the ordinary and would thrive today with modern technology and great storytelling.

Team Bondi developers are working on an L.A. Noire spiritual successor

The leak comes from the Instagram post of an Australian artist working on the soundtrack. The caption states that the creators of L.A. Noire are working on a psychological thriller titled ‘Swoden House.’

This is unlikely to be a direct sequel since Rockstar Games owns the rights to L.A. Noire. However, the project is expected to be a spiritual successor since Swoden House is an actual location from L.A. Noire.

One of the most popular cases in the game was the Black-Dahlia murder case. The main suspect of the crime lived there, so it might have something to do with that. All in all, it seems the developers are working on something along the same lines, even if the project isn’t directly related to L.A. Noire.

L.A Noire
L.A. Noire has plenty of room for improvement.

There were many things that L.A. Noire could’ve done better, including the storytelling, investigations, and plot points. Therefore, this spiritual successor has a solid foundation to work with, but the team needs to significantly improve the formula.

Rockstar Games is currently busy with GTA 6, so the studio likely has no interest in revisiting its older IPs.

As such, a spiritual successor may be the best solution for fans unless Rockstar Games pursues remakes with a third-party studio. This is the same approach the team is taking for Max Payne’s remakes.
