Celebrating 15th Anniversary!

GTA 4 was released on 29 April 2008, exactly fifteen years ago today. Though the game is celebrating its 15th anniversary today, the exciting story and interesting characters are still compelling enough to revisit today.

Many years after its release, fans continue to revisit the old classic for a fun and nostalgic experience.

GTA 4 15 Years Ago

GTA 4 takes place in Liberty City, featuring the main character, Niko Bellic. Alongside Niko, the title introduced characters like Roman Bellic and Dimitri Rascalov.

GTA 4 was the first GTA game to dive into the era of HD gaming. The game was released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles, bringing a complete visual overhaul to the franchise.

Additionally, it featured an impressive physics system with Rockstar aiming for realistic driving and ragdoll physics. While the driving mechanics proved divisive, many fans fondly reflect on GTA 4 and its attention to detail.

The game sold over 3.6 million copies on its first release day and broke the world record for the highest-grossing game in 24 hours. It also crossed the 25 million sales mark in 2013, making it one of the biggest hits for the franchise.

Some fans have recently debated how GTA 4 is one of the most underrated games in the franchise and did not receive the praise and attention it deserved.

Nonetheless, GTA 4 is among the franchise’s most compelling offerings. For those looking to play the game, the Xbox Series S|X consoles provide a great experience, with the title running at 60FPS. The game can also be found on PC.

Unfortunately, GTA 4 is not available on PS4 and PS5 consoles, and many fans have been hoping for a remaster. However, after the recent failure of the GTA Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, Rockstar may stay away from remasters for a while.
