Sabrent Rocket X5 PCIe 5.0 SSD Reaches Speed of 12,398 MB/s In Testing Phase

Impressive Read Speed!!

Sabrent is currently working on a top-of-the-line Rocket X5 SSD, which offers even higher speeds and stands out from other PCIe 5.0 SSD. While most officially announced SSDs standardize read speeds of up to 10,000 MB/s, this SSD performs close to 12,400 MB/s in the testing phase, and the brand aims to push the boundaries to 14,000 MB/s.

The new flagship SSD is still under the testing and development phase. So yeah, don’t expect it to hit the market any time soon. However, while we wait, Sabrent has already done some internal testing and shared amazing results by providing benchmark screenshots in CrystalDiskMark, a well-known tool for checking the performance of an SSD, as proof.

Thanks to the screenshot, this NVMe M.2 SSD can reach read speeds of up to 12,398.80 MB/s. Regarding writing, it’s not far behind either, as it achieved a data transfer speed of 11,844.78 MB/s

Unfortunately, this is as far as the information offered by the brand ends without disclosing the controller used or the type of memory that came with it.

Of course, knowing the delay, and other models on the market, we are already seeing how the second wave of PCIe 5.0 SSDs will standardize the speeds of 12,000 MB/s

For now, all drives are offering the same speeds. In essence, it’s what can be delivered with today’s memory chips and controllers. Thought, the speeds will increase as all technology improves, and all brands are already aiming for 12 GB/s of data transfer for their new wave of SSDs.
