Sony’s PlayStation started its legendary journey 28 years ago on December 9, 1994. The PlayStation consoles have performed remarkably well and have been loved by fans from all around the world.
The PlayStation 1 was a massive success for Sony. Still, it was just the beginning, as the next entry in the PlayStation franchise — the PlayStation 2 became the most popular console ever, performing incredibly well and setting enormous records.
Today marks the 23rd anniversary of the greatest console of all time, the PlayStation 2; it was released on March 4, 2000.
The PlayStation 2’s path has been extraordinary since it has accomplished so much and has sold more than 155 million units globally, which makes it the best-selling console of all time.
This is all thanks to the abundance of features the PlayStation 2 provided. It offered DVD Playback, a significant visual improvement over its predecessor and other consoles. It was the birthplace of world-famous franchises like the God of War, Ratchet, and Clank.
The PlayStation 2 paved an excellent path for Sony to continue with the PlayStation consoles, giving birth to unique consoles like the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and the most recent PlayStation 5, all being perceived amazingly.
