Redfall Is More Like Arkane’s Take on Far Cry Says Creative Director

Arkane Studios' Far Cry!

Redfall, a first-party A.A.A. game for Xbox currently under development by Arkane Studios, has been the subject of intense buzz since its announcement. Along with games like Starfield and Avowed, it is the most anticipated Xbox-exclusive game this year.

Due to Redfall’s similarities to Left 4 Dead, including its four playable characters, cooperative gameplay, and focus on battling the undead, has been labeled as Arkane Studio’s Left 4 Dead.

However, it appears that is not the case because Ricardo Bare, the creative director of Arkane Studios, recently spoke with GamesRadar and revealed that while he could understand how people might have assumed that Redfall was Arkane Studios’ Left 4 Dead due to many similarities, Redfall is more like Arkane Studios’ Far Cry.

It’s totally understandable for somebody to come to that conclusion.

But, in terms of the way that you play and experience Redfall, it’s not like those games at all.

Redfall is more like loading into Far Cry.”

Additionally, Harvey Smith, studio director of Arkane Studios, revealed that with Redfall, Arkane wants to create something similar to classics like Far Cry 2 and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.

Redfall’s release window is somewhere in 2023, while a specific release date has not yet been made public. However, it is reportedly scheduled to launch in March of this year.

Furthermore, the game will be launching on P.C. and the Xbox Series X|S, and it is reported that those who pre-order the game or have the deluxe edition will receive a week of early access.

We are excited and looking forward to Arkane Studios’ Redfall. This is the limited information we have for now, but we will be looking for more news regarding Redfall in the future.

On that note, what do you think about Redfall not being Arkane Studios’s Left 4 Dead but rather being their take on Far Cry? Let us know in the comments section.
