Sony’s much-talked-about upgraded PlayStation 5 Pro is set to release today. While its reviews have been a mixed bag, it is undoubtedly the most powerful console ever. And according to analysts, it can even rival high-end PCs in certain titles.
According to an expert, playing Horizon Forbidden West on PS5 Pro is almost like a high-end PC experience and it is the best image quality ever on a console game.
Why it matters: The PS5 Pro has been criticized for its inflated price tag. However, it has some nice tricks up its sleeve, and enhanced image quality is one of them.
Digital Foundry recently released an in-depth analysis of various games running on the PS5 Pro but were greatly impressed by Horizon Forbidden West’s performance.
Horizon Forbidden West is really really good. It feels like you are playing a high-end PC game now using everything you can could throw at it.
But, not everything is a bed of roses, because newer games have certainly struggled. Games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Elden Ring fail to maintain 60 FPS. However, the upgrade in the image quality with advanced ray tracing is quite clear.
Though, in other games such as Monster Hunter Wilds, TLOU2, and Spider-Man 2, the performance and graphics seem great.
Considering that PS5 Pro isn’t a next-gen console, the upgrades seem decent enough. Also, there are now over 80 titles that have been enhanced for PS5 already. But, the only thing out of place is the price tag, which is the main concern for most fans.
