Elden Ring, Game of the Year 2022, is undoubtedly one of FromSoftware’s best releases. The studio created an open world that offered an unforgettable experience in 2022, and this title continues to thrive to this day.
Fans have been incredibly excited about the IP since the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC was announced. FromSoftware recently debuted the second trailer, and since then, fans are more than ready to jump in for another adventure in The Lands Between.
Elden Ring has become Steam’s best-selling game after this trailer.
Why it matters: There are still a few weeks left before the release of Shadow of the Erdtree, so Elden Ring becoming a top-seller before June is quite shocking.
Counting all free-to-play titles on Steam, Elden Ring lands among the top 5 best-sellers on the platform.
However, since everything above FromSoftware’s magnum opus is either a free-to-play title or the Steam Deck, the game can be considered Steam’s best-selling premium release at the time of writing.
It should also be noted Shadow of the Erdtree is among the top 20 best-sellers, and the DLC is likely to join Elden Ring at the top as its release date draws nearer. For now, there’s still plenty of time to prepare for this expansion.
Elden Ring currently seems to be doing even better than recent releases like Ghost of Tsushima. What makes this even more impressive is the fact that FromSoftware is not offering a discount or promotion for this game.
With new previews expected soon and all eyes on Shadow of the Erdtree as the June release approaches, Elden Ring can only go further up from here.
