Treyarch Says Gamers Aren't Ready For Black Ops 6!

Story Highlight
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was officially announced yesterday and marks the first Treyarch game since 2020.
  • A developer states that this entry has been playtested for a whopping two years.
  • She states that gamers aren’t ready for this entry.

As leaks suggested, Treyarch is working on the next Call of Duty game, and the studio is planning to return to the Black Ops franchise while using a Gulf War setting.

The game was officially announced yesterday, and Xbox confirmed more details would be available in early June. If the excitement for this entry wasn’t already high enough, a developer has teased that Black Ops 6 has been playtested for 2 years.

Why it matters: Since Call of Duty is always released on a tight schedule, very few entries receive as much attention. Therefore, Treyarch’s latest game could prove to be a special launch.

Call of Duty Remains One of The Most Succesful Franchises To Date

Soon after the official announcement was made, Nicole Havin, who is a game designer at Treyarch, retweeted the original post, stating that she has been playtesting the title for two years.

i’ve been playtesting this one for 2 years! y’all aren’t ready.

This appears to be great news for the fans of the franchise ait appears that the game won’t have many issues at launch if the developers have taken their time to polish the experience.

Modern Warfare 3 was notoriously rushed and relied on old content. However, with Treyarch working on this game for four years, the studio may be on track to releasing the most feature-rich entry in recent years.

Black Ops 6 may also provide the most polished Call of Duty experience to date.

Call of Duty Will Finally Return To The Xbox Stage Next Month

Treyarch has help from Raven Software this time. The latter is handling the campaign, so Treyarch seems to have given all its attention to the multiplayer elements.

It has also been stated that future Call of Duty titles will be released on day one on Game Pass. Therefore, Black Ops 6 is proving to be an important release for multiple reasons, one that could shape the IP’s future for years to come.

We recommend tuning into the Xbox Showcase on June 9 for a comprehensive look at this title. Following the showcase, Xbox will air a separate Direct for Call of Duty and reveal more about the game.
