"Last 10 Minutes of The Event Were Perfect For The Future of PlayStation"

Story Highlight
  • Intergalactic, Naughty Dog’s recent IP was bombarded with negative reception as soon as it was revealed.
  • However, Astro Bot developers are pretty excited about the game, as Naughty Dog is an award-winning studio.
  • Astro Bot’s  Director and Producer Nicolas Doucet has also expressed his excitement, saying that the “last 10 minutes of The Game Awards were perfect for PlayStation’s future.”

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet was a surprise reveal at The Game Awards by 2024 one of the most beloved developers, Naughty Dog. No one expected this reveal at the very end of TGA, but it didn’t really receive a positive reception from the fandom

Its YouTube trailer received more dislikes than Concord’s. Fans have also criticized Naughty Dog heavily, roasting the developer in a recent holiday tweet.

Also, the game’s lead may have upset some fans, but they shouldn’t focus on such matters; they should enjoy the game for what it is. While the actress could have taken a better approach, fans were targeting her, which was pretty wrong, too.

Despite the backlash, many fans are looking forward to the IP. Team Asobi seems to be among those fans, as a lot of the developers recently expressed their excitement for the title

Why it matters: Although Naughty Dog’s decision regarding Intergalactic’s lead may be questionable, it is a veteran developer and should be judged based on the final product.

Naughty Dog’s Upcoming IP Has Sparked Some Massie Controversies With Just A Reveal Trailer

In an interview with Famitsu, many Team Asobi employees showed their excitement for Naughty Dog’s upcoming game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Astro Bot’s Director and Producer, Nicolas Doucet, was as surprised as the fandom. He had no idea the award-winning developer would announce its new IP at TGA 2024.

We didn’t know about it either, so we watched the trailer for “Intergalactic” and forgot everything (laughs). We were watching it from a gamer’s perspective, so we were like, “Wow, that’s amazing!”

He further said, “The last 10 minutes of the event were perfect for the future of PlayStation”. More developers from the studio expressed their excitement as well. Lead Sound Designer Junko Sano said, “It made me feel excited, didn’t it?”

Lead Game Designer Hiroaki Yatoku talked to Naughty Dog after the event and bonded with them. Yatoku also revealed that the developer was cheered and happy for the Astro Bot winning the Game of the Year Award.

The game seems to have received a lot of love from the other developers, which can help boost Naughty Dog’s morale a lot. Fans should also wait for some more reveals to actually judge the game, as right now, there isn’t much known about it.
