Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom Will Justify $70 Price, Says Nintendo

"Fans Will Find This An Incredibly Full, Deeply Immersive Experience"

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, first announced in 2019, is the first switch game priced at $70. The game has been developing since 2017 and has been highly hyped since the announcement.

Zelda titles have already been highly successful, and they are loved by fans worldwide, but the latest one in the franchise was causing some concerns for the fans as the price is too high. Many fans had the same concern that Nintendo has to justify the price with solid gameplay and content.

The fandom of this franchise is huge, and they would surely buy the game to play it, but as the price is exceptionally high for a switch game, the gameplay needs to be justified. For the fans, Nintendo has spoken, saying the $70 price tag will be justified.

In a recent interview with The Associated Press, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser said this open-world game’s price reflects what type of game this will be. He said when he was asked about why the game was released for a higher price:

“We look at what the game has to offer; I think fans will find this is an incredibly full, deeply immersive experience.

The price point reflects the type of experience that fans can expect when it comes to playing this particular game.

This isn’t a price point that we’ll necessarily have on all our titles.

It’s actually a fairly common pricing model either here or in Europe or other parts of the world, where the pricing may vary depending on the game itself.”

The $70 price, compared to the games currently launching, doesn’t seem much, as many companies have adopted this pricing model in the past couple of years. But why did Zelda’s price come as a surprise for many fans? It could be because Nintendo is still on the older hardware.

Still, fans now don’t have to worry about the price as Nintendo has clarified that the game will live up to the price meaning the game will live up to all the hype created in the past few years.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is developed by Nintendo Entertainment Planning & Development, and the game is set to release on May 12, 2023, on Nintendo Switch. We look forward to what this extremely hyped will bring us.

Hopefully, it will live up to the price and hype. Aside from that, what do you think of this claim by Nintendo? Are you excited about the game? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section.
