- Xbox Games Showcase was very big, featuring multiple large-scale reveals.
- A new report states that Microsoft still held back many reveals.
- These games are now expected to show up at Gamescom 2024.
Ahead of the Xbox Games Showcase, there was palpable excitement within the gaming industry. With expectations of 40 games and 8 world premiers, all eyes were on Microsoft to deliver the best showcase of the year.
Xbox did just that, offering new looks at games like Doom: The Dark Age and Gears E-Day. After such an incredible showcase, many thought Microsoft had revealed its full hand, but this may not necessarily be the case.
According to a report, Xbox did not show everything it could have.
Why it matters: Xbox seems to have the biggest lineup of first-party games among the three console manufacturers. This lineup has been building up for many years, and the results are now starting to show up.
According to Parris Lilly from Kinda Funny XCast, sources from Xbox described how much content Microsoft had before this showcase.
He reports that people from Xbox said that this was far from everything that could have been shown. In fact, Xbox seems to have even more big games, with the insider stating that Gamescom is shaping up to be an even bigger event.
I had multiple people at Xbox tell me that Gamescom is shaping up to be a big show, too.

Games like Marvel’s Blade, Contraband, Clockwork Revolution, Everwild, and more immediately come to mind. Therefore, it isn’t surprising that Microsoft feels confident in its lineup.
Like every other year, Gamescom will officially be held in August. This event has historically proven to be quite big for Xbox, but Microsoft could kick things up a notch in 2024 after its major showcase last week.
Perhaps Xbox will also offer teasers for the next generation. Since an Xbox handheld was rumored to be shown off at last week’s showcase, this could be one of the many announcements scheduled for Gamescom.
