  • Earlier, the show was criticized for deviating too much from the source material.

The Witcher TV show from Netflix has always been a mixed bag. Its first season brought in record viewership, with fans praising Henry Cavill for his portrayal of Geralt. However, in season 4, not only was Henry removed, but another thing could prove controversial.

A new report has emerged a month before the season premiere, revealing that The Witcher season 4 will kill off more key characters than the books. This is another deviation from the source material for which the show is always criticized.

Why it matters: The upcoming season has been under scrutiny for replacing Henry Cavill with Liam Hemsworth, and now, even more changes from the books will likely spark a more mixed reaction towards the show.

The Witcher season 4 will feature more key deaths compared to the books

According to a report by Redanian Intelligence, The Witcher season 4 is going to be rather deadly. It will kill off characters that survive in the books. The following parts of this article contain spoilers, so beware of that

Based on the books, there are already numerous deaths; however, there will also be some other major ones. For starters, Yennifer will recruit a team of Vesemir, Lambert, and Coen to take on Vilgafortz, but Vesemir will die confronting him.

The show is often criticized for changing too much stuff from the books

In addition, two scoreceresses of the Lodge, Kiera Metz and Margrita, will also bite the dust despite surviving the events of the books. So, these are some major deviations from books, as these characters play bigger roles later on.

Henry Cavill was removed from The Witcher because he wanted to keep things close to the source material. This was also what fans wanted, as the latter seasons changed too much, but it seems the writers are adamant about changing more stuff.
