- The Witcher 4 is now being worked on by 400 people.
- This RPG is all set to enter production very soon.
- The Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is still in the concept phase.
The Witcher 4 is the latest project on CDPR’s plate. This studio has finally wrapped up Cyberpunk 2077, with the developers setting the goal of entering production of The Witcher 4 with over 400 people.
According to the studio’s latest earnings conference, 400 developers have now been allocated, and the RPG is moving ahead as planned.
Why it matters: CDPR aims to break RPG boundaries with its next project, so the team needs all the help it can get.
In its latest statement, CDPR confirms that production is set to begin in the second half of 2024.

Following this target, The Witcher 4 is being dubbed this studio’s most developed project. This could mean that the RPG will receive a longer development cycle than past releases.
With The Witcher 3 still considered a ground-breaking RPG, CDPR seems to be doing its sequel justice. If the game requires more than three years in production, it could also become a next-generation launch title.

Meanwhile, the team states that Project Orion, the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, remains in the concept stage. The developer is looking to hire more talent for this game as it continues working on The Witcher 4.
CDPR also showed interest in mobile gaming. The studio is now pondering over the idea of licensing IPs like The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 for potential mobile game adaptations.
With games like Elden Ring rumored to receive mobile games, this may not be a bad idea, all things considered.
