Finally, A Detailed Look At The Game!

The popularity of FromSoftware’s Dark Souls led to a slew of games looking to find success with a similar style of gameplay. One such game was Lords of The Fallen, and although it did not see much success, the franchise has returned with a new title after 9 years.

The Lords of The Fallen was announced last year, and the game is gearing up for a 2023 release. While the developer previously released various trailers, a recent trailer has shown several minutes of gameplay footage.

Why it matters: The gameplay trailer gives fans their best look at The Lords of The Fallen yet, showcasing the team’s work on the large-scale bosses and combat.

Similar to previous showings from The Lords of The Fallen, the latest trailer looks stunning. The game will utilize Unreal Engine 5, leading to awe-inspiring lighting and visual fidelity.

The trailer also highlights the combat. The developer has included melee combat and a plethora of spells, a few of which are shown in the gameplay. Like other souls-inspired games, a focus on dodging and strikes between gaps in enemy attacks can be seen.

The Lords of The Fallen also shows a few boss fights. These creatures look threatening and agile, ensuring players will have plenty of challenging opponents to overcome throughout the game.

Previously, Hexworks noted that the title would focus on a dark fantasy setting, and these elements are clearly on display in the latest trailer. The Lords of The Fallen is coming to current-gen consoles and PC on October 13, and it looks like an exciting addition to the souls-like genre.
