Fans Frustrated By The Switch 2 Exclusivity And Multiplayer Approach For The Duskbloods

Second Consecutive Multiplayer Title By FromSoftware!

Story Highlight
  • The Duskbloods is FromSoftware’s latest title.
  • Fans expressed concerns over the title being multiplayer and exclusive to Switch 2.
  • It is also the second multiplayer title by the developers in a row.

While the Switch 2‘s reveal wasn’t what fans had expected from the Japanese gaming giant, a FromSoftware game announcement at the event made them think that something good would come out of the reveal.

The Duskbloods was revealed for the Switch 2 as an exclusive multiplayer title, which disappointed fans. Since then, they have openly expressed their frustration on social media over the title’s exclusivity and PVPVE approach.

Why it matters: In an era where exclusivity is slowly dissolving, FromSoftware hasn’t made the right decision by making a Switch 2-only multiplayer title, missing out on a huge player base.

The disappointment is immeasurable

The Duskbloods is seemingly closer to Bloodborne in terms of visuals and the overall theme of the game, with many referring to it as the spiritual successor of the PS4 exclusive.

All FromSoftware games have a similar theme, yet they still differentiate from each other. However, that case doesn’t hold true with The Duskbloods. As such, fans have called it more of a DLC rather than a separate new game.

Moreover, fans have also drawn comparisons with Bloodborne, saying they now know how non-PS4 users felt not being able to play the game. Moreover, the Switch 2 exclusivity also confuses fans, considering Sony also has a major share in FromSoftware’s parent company

The Duskbloods’s Enemy Designs Are Impressive

The disappointment grew as it marked FromSoftware’s second consecutive multiplayer title, with Elden Ring Nightreign releasing next month.

Despite all the backlash, The Duskbloods still looks amazing, and the enemy designs are amazing, as usual.

It’s just that The Duskbloods’ reveal didn’t come at the right time when fans had expected a new release or something from Bloodborne, as the game hit its 10th anniversary just recently.
