"It'll Be Even Better By Launch!"

At the start of the month, Insomniac Games confirmed they would be present at the San Diego Comic-Con with Spider-Man 2. This led to many fans looking forward to the event for another look at the anticipated title.

Insomniac Games has now revealed the first story trailer for Spider-Man 2. While the trailer is just a few minutes long, fans are already happy with the improved facial models of the characters.

However, a developer from Insomniac Games claims that the game will look even better by launch.

Why it matters: Spider-Man 2 was well received during the PlayStation Showcase, but many found the visuals disappointing. However, the latest trailer shows a notable improvement in this department.

After the story trailer was revealed, fans of the franchise took to Twitter to appreciate Insomniac Games’ efforts on the game. Replying to a fan praising the facial models, James Stevenson from Insomniac Game said:

“And it’ll be even better by launch.”

As stated earlier, the first gameplay for Spider-Man 2 was considered underwhelming by many. With the game being made exclusively for the PS5, fans had higher expectations for the game’s graphics.

The latest trailer already looks better. Characters like Mary Jane and Peter Parker look stunning compared to their PS4 counterparts, and a post on Reddit also highlights this comparison.

Nonetheless, the developer will continue improving the game, ensuring it releases in the best state possible.

With just three months left before release, fans hope to learn more details about the game soon. Insomniac Games has already revealed plenty of information, recently confirming Spider-Man 2 takes place nine months after the last game.

It is also expected to be a much darker story due to the involvement of Venom and the symbiote’s influence on Peter throughout the game.
