There Shouldn't Be Too Much Action, Though!

Story Highlight
  • A new trailer for Silent Hill f, a standalone title in the series, was released during the recent State of Play.
  • The gameplay trailer was straight up impressive, featuring stunning graphics, atmosphere, and enemies.
  • Also, this game will be more melee and action-oriented than the Silent Hill 2 Remake.

A new trailer for Silent Hill f was just released at the recent State of Play. While the fandom has claimed the event to be underwhelming, there were some reveals, and the upcoming Silent Hill is one of them.

The gameplay trailer reveals multiple new things, making the fans excited. However, the fandom has been wondering about how much action-focused this title would be. Thankfully, Konami has given us an answer. As per the publisher, the upcoming title will be more focused on melee and action than the Silent Hill 2 Remake

Why it matters: More action in horror games makes the experience fun for many. While the combat was never the main focus in Silent Hill games, having an option to shoot enemies with different guns in the SH2 remake was fun.

The encounters are as challenging as the obstacles that Hinako must overcome in life. The combat will have a heavier focus on melee and be more action-oriented compared to last year’s Silent Hill 2.

As the game has a heavy focus on Melee and is more action-oriented, it is likely that there will be many options to choose from. We have also seen Hinako using a Naginata, so traditional Japanese weapons are also expected.

The developers are not including the firearms in the game, so they have upped the melee combat, which was the right choice to make. That said, fans are hoping it won’t be too action-oriented, as that may ruin the fun for them.

Ehhhhh… I really hope it’s not TOO action oriented. Even if it’s fun action, I wanna get immersed and scared. I want combat to be a last resort.

The blog also reveals that the “puzzles are grounded in psychological anguish and suffering”. They are deeply connected to the story as well as elements of Japanese culture, such as scarecrows.

What do you think about the upcoming Silent Hill f being more action-oriented than the last game in the series? Do you think it will ruin the fun or enhance the experience? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section below or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for discussion
