Rockstar Parent Company Confident About GTA 6 Running On Xbox Series S

"I’m Not Really Worried"

Story Highlight
  • Strauss Zelnick was recently asked whether it would be problematic to run GTA 6 on Xbox Series S.
  • Zelnick confidently said that he isn’t worried at all as they will find a way to make it run on the platform.
  • Xbox Series S is highly criticised by many developers due to its technical issues.

Xbox Series S has proven to be very troublesome for developers, and some have wished it never existed. The console has some technical issues that require developers to go to an extra length porting the game on it.

There haven’t been any complaints regarding the Series X or PlayStation 5, but many have complained about the troublesome Series S. However, Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, isn’t at all worried about the console and is confident that GTA 6 will run fine on it

Why it matters: Many developers do not regard Xbox Series S highly, but that doesn’t bother Take-Two; instead, the company is pretty confident.

GTA 6 Won’t Have Any Trouble Running On The Xbox Series S

During the recent earnings call, Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two, was asked whether it would be difficult to run the highly anticipated game GTA 6 on a lower-specced console like the Xbox Series S.

To this Zelnick confidently said that he isn’t worried at all as they find a way to support each platform despite their levels of tech.

Look, we support the platforms where the consumers are for as long as they’re there, and we find a way to support platforms despite different levels of tech. Our labels are really good at that. I’m not really worried.

-Strauss Zelnick

Zelnick further said that he doesn’t care about things like how powerful consoles are as he has no control over them. So, it seems like thinking about such things is futile for him. He further added that the ‘audience will show up if you have great properties.’

We make the tech work when we can make it work as long as the audience is big enough to make that worthwhile

While Take-Two is selective about the platform it supports, it will make the tech work as long as the audience is big enough, and that shouldn’t be a problem for GTA 6.

The level of confidence Zelnick has is truly remarkable, and we hope that the GTA 6 launch meets all the expectations that have been built up over the past few years
