Resident Evil is a Capcom horror video game series and media franchise. There are survival horror, third-person shooter, and first-person shooter games in this collection; throughout its history, the Resident Evil franchise has used a number of control schemes and gameplay techniques, but the series emphasizes solving puzzles.
With the fourth mainline entry in the survival horror series, Capcom continues its trend of remaking classic Resident Evil titles. On March 24th, 2023, Sony’s State Of Play Event revealed that a remake of Resident Evil 4 would be released for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, bringing the action-packed game to modern platforms. Capcom also claims that the game will support the next generation of PlayStation VR2 (expected to arrive next year).
According to the official trailer, it’s safe to assume that the game will follow the trend set by the remakes of “Resident Evil 2 & 3.” Like those games and the original “Resident Evil 4,” this remake will likely be in a third-person perspective.
It has also been revealed that various alterations are being made to Resident Evil 4’s original story in the remake, as Capcom announced in an accompanying PlayStation blog post:
“Our goal is to make the game familiar to fans of the series, while also giving it a fresh feel. This is being achieved by reinventing the game’s story while keeping the essence of its direction , modernizing the graphics and updating the controls to a modern standard.”
We don’t know what kind of adjustments the storyline will undergo, but we hope the game comes out well. So far, everything about the game appears to be going well, and fans are enjoying what they’re seeing.
