PlayStation has a plethora of classics that it can revive and generate a massive amount of excitement among its fandom. While the gaming giant has a few interesting releases coming up this year, it can win the fandom’s heart further by reviving some of the classic IPs.

Hermen Hulst previously confirmed that the company intends to return to the old IPs. However, he didn’t really say whether the gaming giant is working on any of the classic games, but an insider has recently revealed some information on the matter.

Andy Robinson of the VGC recently stated that he has heard that PlayStation is working on at least a couple of small, dormant classic IPs.

Why it matters: The gaming and tech giant can surprise its fandom by revitalizing many classic PlayStation IPs, such as Infamous, Sly Cooper, Jak and Dexter, Killzone, and Resistance.

Andy Robinson of VGC (Video Games Chronicles) revealed that he heard Sony is bringing back at least a couple of old IPs.

Without being an insider d***, I know of at least a couple that they’re working on. Like the deep cut, old IP stuff.

The insider is credible, as he has been right about a lot of stuff in the past, so the fandom is hoping again. This rumor also aligns with Hermen Hulst confirming the company’s intent to revive some old IPs

Fans Are Expecting Killzone To Be One of The Small Classic IPs PlayStation Seems To Be Reviving

Robinson didn’t reveal what games Sony is working on, but fans expect the gaming giant to revive Killzone and Resistance first. Fans have also long asked the gaming giant to revive the aforementioned IPs.

While Guerrilla Games has already confirmed that it has moved on from the Killzone series, fans are still hopeful.

As of now, there is no way of telling which old IPs are being revived, so fans should take this news with a grain of salt, as Sony has also yet to confirm these recent rumors
