Forza Horizon 5 And Oblivion Remastered Top PlayStation Store Downloads in April

Xbox Continues To Dominate As A Publisher!

Story Highlight
  • Oblivion Remastered and Forza Horizon 5 were the most downloaded games for the PS5 in April.
  • It’s impressive for a shadow-drop and a port releasing 4 years after its initial release to top the charts.
  • Xbox’s publisher route is working well for them since most of the titles on the list were from the gaming giant.

April 2025 saw some record-breaking releases like Clair Obscur: Expedition, the long-rumoured Oblivion Remastered, Forza Horizon 5 PS5 port, and other releases.

However, despite the tough competition, Oblivion Remastered and Forza Horizon 5 were the most downloaded games on the PlayStation Store during the month of April.

Why it matters: Oblivion Remastered being a surprise drop and Forza Horizon 5 releasing on PS5, 4 years after its initial launch, reigned supreme on the PlayStation Store last month is really impressive.

In the US/Canada region, Oblivion Remastered topped the chart, followed by Minecraft and Forza Horizon 5 in second and third place, respectively. In the EU region, Forza Horizon 5 claimed the top spot, with Oblivion Remastered in second and Minecraft securing third place.

While Forza Horizon 5 and Oblivion Remastered were new releases for the PS5, Minecraft’s longevity is quite surprising. The jump in players also contributed to the hype the franchise had with A Minecraft Movie’s release last month.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was also among the top 5 most downloaded games within the EU. However, within the US/Canada region, the title took 6th place.

Xbox Led Pre-Orders On PlayStation Within The Last Quarter

That said, most of the titles on the list appeared to be published by Xbox, which has finally found resounding success with its multiplatform approach. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Minecraft, Oblivion Remastered, and Forza Horizon 5 are all published and owned by Xbox.

PlayStation still tracks PS4 releases as well. Red Dead Redemption 2 was the most downloaded game for the last-gen console across both the EU and the US/Canada regions.
