Since its debut, the PlayStation 5 has been a huge success for Sony. The gaming console has sold more than 30 million units worldwide and has received extremely positive feedback from fans all around the world.
The PlayStation 5 was released in November of 2020, and while it is still very compatible with modern-day games, fans do wonder if it would get the same treatment as the PlayStation 4 with a Pro model in the future.
Well, it appears like it, as recently, industry insider Tom Henderson received information from sources that the PlayStation 5 Pro is reportedly in development and could release in late 2024.
Previously, we heard about a new PlayStation 5 with a detachable disk drive, and many were wondering if it was going to be the PlayStation 5 Pro model, which it would not. According to Tom’s sources regarding the detachable disk drive PlayStation 5;
“This is just the beginning of new hardware coming to PlayStation users this generation.”
We may anticipate an improvement in performance and visuals based on the Zen 4 architecture APU coupled with RDNA 3 graphics to give fair treatment to the next-Gen console.
Additionally, Sony recently submitted a patent that suggested that they are looking forward to optimizing the PlayStation 5’s ray tracing effects, which might be something they work on in the PlayStation 5 Pro.
The idea of a PlayStation 5 Pro in late 2024 does seem likely, as the PlayStation 5 would be around 4 years old and may not be able to run games as well as it does now, but, we cannot be sure and only time will tell.
We are excited and looking forward to hearing more from the PlayStation 5 Pro. This is the limited information we have for now, but we will be on the lookout for more news regarding the PlayStation 5 Pro in the future.
On that note, what do you think about the PlayStation 5 reportedly being in development with a tentative release date of late 2024? Let us know in the comment section.
