Haven Studios has been in the news for collaborations with Sony, and we couldn’t be more excited. However, speculations have it – Haven Studios new AAA Multiplayer game will utilize PlayStation Cloud Game Streaming. Does that hint at something? Let’s dive in and connect the dots!
Stumbling upon the job listings of Haven Studios stating that they required a “Senior Gameplay Programmer,” it was something worth being in the Limelight. What made it interesting was the preferred qualifications they had mentioned for the right candidate.
The right candidate must have an Understanding of Cloud-Based Development and Streaming considerations. Although it seems like it’s an ordinary job, it looks like connecting the dots.
Cloud-Based Development and Streaming considerations might be the dot connected to PlayStation Cloud Streaming and previously rumored online “games-as-a-service” (or GaaS) title from Jade Raymond’s Haven Studios for PlayStation 5.
A Speculation Involving Haven Studios GaaS Title
Previously, a recruiter working on Sony’s behalf sent the signal to the Italian media site Multiplayer that the rumor was true. Some caution is in order before taking too much solace in this rumor. On the other hand, it’s easy to extrapolate from what we know. Another problem is that the rumor hasn’t been confirmed.
The mail was submitted to Multiplayer by a contact “in triple-A game production” who received it via a recruiter, so it’s already been through numerous channels. For privacy and security reasons, we’ve excluded identifying information about the position being filled in favor of a generic “recruiter” name in the following message.
Additionally, we now know a little more about Haven’s first project. “AAA multiplayer experience” has been verified, even though we previously knew they were developing a “permanent online game” with “next-level” aesthetics.
PlayStation Studios’ Hermen Hulst believes that the company’s debut game is progressing better than expected, according to GamesIndustry. They also confess that they were interested in acquiring Haven so that they could enter the very competitive Canadian video game production market.
By piecing together all of this information, we may conclude that in the not-too-distant future, the next AAA multiplayer game that Haven Studios is currently under development will be ready to stream on PlayStation Cloud.
