Mortal Kombat 1 Will Receive More DLC And Support Than Previous Games

More DLC Potential Than Any MK Game!

Mortal Kombat 1 was officially announced a few days ago, and it will be released on September 19. This announcement was followed by the official PC requirements, with the game recommending 100GB storage and 8GB VRAM for the best experience.

Recent leaks have also pointed to a DLC roster with multiple guest characters, similar to past entries. In relation to DLC and long-term support, Ed Boom has previously revealed that Mortal Kombat 1 will be the most supported game in the franchise.

Why it matters: Mortal Kombat 11 was promised to be supported for a long time. NetheRealm Studios appears to be taking a similar approach for the upcoming title, with even more support planned this time.

Mortal Kombat 11 received 12 additional characters after launch. The game also received several hours of story content with the Aftermath expansion.

Therefore, fans could see similar story content and even more characters for Mortal Kombat 1. The recent DLC leak already points to three new guest characters in the first Kombat Pack, so the developer could be looking to increase the number of guest characters.

The support should also extend to updates like balance patches. Fighting games have a history of drastically changing more minor details with each new patch. This can sometimes lead to characters being broken, but this may not be a concern for Mortal Kombat 1 with long-term support.

Since the game will be the most supported NetherRealm title, at least two years of content and updates seem likely. However, the developer could surprise fans with an even longer support window.

Mortal Kombat 1 is shaping up to be among the best fighting games ever. The game will compete against Street Fighter 6, which is releasing on 2nd June, and Tekken 8, which may be released in 2023 or 2024 at some point.

Nonetheless, fighting game fans have a lot to look forward to, and Mortal Kombat 1 is just one of the many titles that fans are excited about.
