Modern Warfare 3 Teaser Confirms Zombies Mode Return

Zombies Mode Coming Back!

Call of Duty introduced the zombies mode over a decade ago. Since then, the game mode has been featured in various entries, becoming a staple of the series, and it appears to be returning for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

According to a tease from Activision, zombies mode will be part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Why it matters: The Modern Warfare franchise has never included a zombies mode in the last 15 years. Therefore this will be a new addition to this part of the Call of Duty IP.

As noted by various users, sending ‘Zombies’ to the specified number leads to an audio file with zombie sound effects.

This teaser more or less confirms the existence of zombies mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Recently, Activision has used similar teasers to confirm the return of mechanics like red dots on the minimap when firing weapons and more.

A previous rumor claimed that Activision would include all maps from 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in the upcoming release. While this was unconfirmed at the time, the teaser appears to corroborate the information.

In terms of zombies mode, Treyarch was originally responsible for bringing the wave-based mode to Call of Duty.

However, recent years have seen studios like Sledgehammer Games bringing their take to the mode. Seven total studios are involved in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, but it remains to be seen if Treyarch will lead the development of zombies.

All of this information should be confirmed during the game’s official reveal tomorrow. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is continuing the annual cycle of the franchise, and fans all over the world are excited to finally play the conclusion to the new Modern Warfare trilogy.
