Grounded is one of the most successful games developed by Obsidian Entertainment. The game was published by Xbox Game Studios and released on September 27, 2022. Since then, the game has received many positive reviews.
The game features a protagonist who is shrunk to the size of ant and has to survive in the backyard. The backyard is filled with different insects, and the main character has to survive by consuming sufficient food and water.
The boss of Xbox Studio, Matt Booty, confirmed on the Friends Per the Second podcast that Grounded has crossed 13 million players.
This is undoubtfully a massive success for both Obsidian Entertainment and Microsoft. It is quite surprising how a small team of around 20 has developed this game, and it crossed the 13 million players mark within a few days.

Grounded was initially launched in early access in July 2020 and February 2022; this game crossed 10 million players on Xbox and PC. The updates to the game added bugs, more explorable regions, and many more features.
Moreover, with the game’s success, there is a grounded animated show currently in development, and the writer Bret Friedman is working on the show’s story. You might know Friedman from his work for Star Wars so that fans can have high expectations from the animated show.
