The God of War franchise made a huge comeback with a reboot in 2018. The title was revamped from the original with a more mature Kratos, featuring his son Atreus. It was wonderfully received and also a financial success.
A new update reveals that God of War 2018 and Ragnarok combined have generated a whopping $1.4 billion in revenue so far. These are crazy numbers, considering the amount was generated from just 2 releases.
Why it matters: Santa Monica’s franchise has always been considered amongst the best from PlayStation. It cemented the spot further with the last 2 mainline AAA releases.

According to Rich Fielder’s LinkedIn profile, who worked as a Senior Producer at Santa Monica, God of War 2018 and its sequel have accumulated a total of over $1.4 billion in revenue since their release.
