GeForce RTX 3070 Level Performance For $500

The next announcement from Nvidia would include more budget-friendly options like the GeForce RTX 4070 and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. Among the two, the latter is getting a lot of attention, though it might not be as powerful as we hoped.

According to a reliable source Kopite7kimi, the upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti from Nvidia won’t be much faster than the GeForce RTX 3070. The new graphics card is rumored to be based on the AD-106 GPU, which will come equipped with a total of 4352 CUDA Cores and 8 GB of GDDR6 memory.

The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will have a slower 288 GB/s bandwidth compared to the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti but will offer 32 MB of L2 cache, an 8x improvement over its predecessor.

Furthermore, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will also utilize the new PCIe 12VHPWR connector, used on every other RTX 40-series card from Nvidia. Nvidia is trying to standardize the new PCIe Gen 5 connector across the GeForce RTX 40 series lineup, so do expect it to be the standard on all Nvidia cards from now on.

Previously, we reported that the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will use 20% less power than its predecessor the GeForce RTX 3060Ti, and will consume a total rated board power of just 160W. A major improvement in efficiency over the last generation if the performance claims of GeForce RTX 3070 are true.

The smaller bus interface might be the only downside of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, making the graphics card perform lower at resolutions above 1080P and 1440P just like the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti.

Nvidia might also target the card for users who are only looking to play at resolutions, not above 1080P. The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is expected to be sold at $500, for reference the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti currently costs $400.

What are your thoughts on the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, would it be a good 1080P card?
