The costs of various mid to high-end graphics cards are rapidly dropping, which shouldn’t be shocking. After a month of product releases, led by Nvidia’s Super refresh for the RTX 40 series, we have seen significant changes in the cost of new and last-generation graphics cards.
Launched in May 2023, Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4060 Ti was one of the most power-efficient releases of this generation, offering a small 10-15% gain in PC gaming performance at the same price range as the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti it replaced.
It also came with the bonus of supporting DLSS 3 Frame Generation. However, for the MSRP of $400, this graphics card was not well received due to limited bandwidth and 8GB of memory.
The Gigabyte RTX 4060 Ti Gaming OC, which was previously available for $430, is being cleared out by Best Buy for $344. This new discounted price is an excellent illustration of how a new GPU release can temporarily drive down prices.
In comparison to the Radeon RX 7600XT, the 8GB model of the RTX 4060 Ti offers a performance advantage of 10% to 20%. Given that the price difference from Radeon GPU is only 4.5% ($15) greater, Nvidia’s offer is quite compelling for the time being.
Nvidia has begun to step up its presence in mainstream markets as it concentrates on improving supply and releasing competitive pricing reductions. Its mid-tier GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB model is currently one major example.
Nvidia also received a lot of backlash against the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti for only offering 8GB of VRAM at launch. While it might not have been the best choice back then, the new discounted price on the 8 GB Gigabyte RTX 4060 Ti Gaming OC makes it one of the best 1080p choices for the time being.
The Gigabyte RTX 4060 Ti Gaming OC is currently available on Amazon and Best Buy. However, the option might not be in stock for much longer.
