Players transferred millions of Steam points collectively just to get a chance to experience Hollow Knight Silksong for free.

But, as it turned out, this was a little too good to be true, and Steam took notice and banned the user after they failed to provide free copies. According to Aesir on the same forum, the Steam points players earned were returned to their accounts, with the original poster even showing an email.

However, not everyone received their lost currency in this ordeal, with many saying Steam has never refunded such transactions in the history of the platform.
