TES Online Is A Revenue Giant For Bethesda!

Story Highlight
  • The Elder Scrolls Online is one of Bethesda’s highest revenue-generating titles.
  • The title has over 20 million players and makes over $15 million in monthly revenue.
  • Fans have even spent over $2 billion on the game, helping it reach huge numbers.

The Elder Scrolls is one of Bethesda’s biggest and most successful franchises. Despite not getting a new mainline entry in so many years, the series has grown mainly because of The Elder Scrolls Online, one of the studio’s most profitable titles.

According to a former Bethesda employee, The Elder Scrolls Online has over 20 million players and is one of the highest revenue-generating titles in the studio’s games lineup.

Why it matters: The Elder Scrolls Online has been around for quite some time now, and thanks to constant updates and new content, it has a very loyal fan base that is continuing to grow.

The Elder Scrolls Online has over 20 million players

As per Steve Harris, former Director of Creative Services at Bethesda Softworks’s LinkedIn profile, the title is one of the highest-performing MMOs, making it immensely popular and among the highest-grossing titles from the company.

Last year, the game’s director also revealed that the title had reached over $2 billion in customer spending. Moreover, it also makes $15 million in profit each month, so we can imagine that the numbers must be humongous.

However, Bethesda hasn’t provided the exact figure, so we can’t give a solid number. Nonetheless, it will be difficult to top off what Bethesda has achieved with The Elder Scrolls Online. The studio also finally has The Elder Scrolls 6 on the way.
