Sandfall Interactive's RPG Is Making Waves In The Industry!

Story Highlight
  • Clair Obscur has now become the most-nominated game in TGA history.
  • The RPG has the best chance of winning the GOTY awards among all nominees.
  • The game is already on pace to become one of the most decorated titles in gaming.

2025 has brought a much-needed change in the gaming industry after a few rough recent years, plagued by subpar AAA and AAAA releases. However, this year’s rise in AA and indie titles shows that creativity and risk-taking are the most critical factors in a game’s success.

A month before The Game Awards show premieres, nominees for the 2025 GOTY award have been listed. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has made the list to no one’s surprise, and on top of that, it is now the most nominated game in the show’s entire history.

Why it matters: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was a passion project from veteran developers. This passion and creative approach will certainly inspire more developers to push out great releases.

Even for all the GOTY nominees, Clair Obscur is likely to snatch the crown despite the tough competition from other games like Silksong, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and more.

Previously, at the Thailand Game Show, the turn-based RPG had already won a GOTY award. Clair Obscur is becoming one of the most decorated video games in history with this ongoing pace.

Already, the game has a near-perfect user score on Metacritic and on the PlayStation Store, further highlighting its widespread success across all types of players. Unfortunately, the game was robbed at the Grammy’s by not even being nominated in the first place.

Still, there are lots of other opportunities for Sandfall Interactive’s RPG. In other news, a sequel to the game is already in the works, and just days after its release, a movie adaptation deal was also secured, promising great things for the IP in the near future.
