On the other hand, Battlefield 6 seems to be heading in the completely opposite direction. Following an explosive reveal, the team has teased that Battlefield 6 will not feature any cartoon skins.
Why it matters: Games like Fortnite have encouraged developers to pursue crossovers for their games, often at the expense of the game’s identity.
As Charlie Intel reports, the Battlefield 6 team was recently asked to share its thoughts on the cosmetics fans can expect in the game moving forward. Although the team did not explicitly mention outlandish crossovers and cartoony skins, it did confirm a major focus on the series’ core military theme.

Many Call of Duty and first-person-shooter fans had hoped Battlefield 6 would go the opposite route and offer something fresh to the industry. It seems Dice is doing just that, incentivizing both Battlefield and Call of Duty fans to give the game a shot.
Since Call of Duty’s approach is so set in stone, fans can also expect similar cartoon-themed crossovers with Black Ops 7. This is precisely why many are so glad that Battlefield 6 does not appear to be following suit.
