Bloodborne was initially released in 2015, and the game quickly gathered praise from the media and fans alike. To this day, Bloodborne is considered among the best releases in recent times.

Despite the title’s popularity, PlayStation has not supported Bloodborne with updates and enhancements. Several PlayStation games like Ghost of Tsushima and God of War received enhancements for the PlayStation 5. However, Bloodborne does not utilize the new hardware.

The demands for a new version of Bloodborne have now been picking up the pace. Recently, Sony has released several first party titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PC. This his has also led to speculation about a possible Bloodborne PC port with improved resolution and frame-rates.

However, it seems like the situation is more complicated that expected. Industry insider Jeff Grubb has commented on the matter, stating that fans should not expect news on Bloodborne anytime soon

According to Jeff, FromSoftware is currently busy with Elden Ring. FromSoftware’s latest title has become a huge success in the industry. Elden Ring has reportedly shipped 16.6 million units, and this astounding success was a surprise for the developer.

As such, FromSoftware is now busy supporting Elden Ring. Jeff also claims that Bloodborne has unique properties that prevent another developer from working on a remaster or enhanced port. He stated,

“FromSoftware built that game in such a way that you couldn’t just hire a team to do the work for them”

“FromSoftware would have to unlock the doors to the part of the code that is a bit messed up, to guide the other team.”

However, the situation is not as terrible as it might sound. Jeff also stated that this does not mean the end of the world for a Bloodborne port. Enhancements are still likely to come, though they may take a bit longer than expected.

Bloodborne On PC

Since launch, Bloodborne has been capped at 30 frames per second. Additionally, all versions of the game also suffer from frame-pacing issues. These issues have held Bloodborne back from reaching its true potential.

Fans can only hope that Sony and FromSoftware will come together to update the beloved title. Bloodborne was considered the big break for Sony’s PlayStation 4 in the console’s early days, but it looks like the title will not be receiving the attention it deserves, anytime soon.
