Activision Says It Will Listen To The Community!

Story Highlight
  • Black Ops 7 has received a ton of new information and launches on November 14.
  • Treyarch states that it is carefully looking at feedback related to Call of Duty skins.
  • Recent backlash to Black Ops 6 skins might force Activision and Treyarch to avoid over-the-top crossovers next year.

More information regarding this year’s Call of Duty was shared by Activision at Gamescom 2025. In addition to being a sequel to 2012’s fan-favorite release, Black Ops 7 promises various exciting elements for both new and returning fans.

Activision and its developers also seem to be addressing criticism regarding the game’s monetization and skins.

Why it matters: Following the Battlefield 6 beta, many have praised the game for staying true to its core military themes. Meanwhile, Call of Duty continues to pursue more absurd crossovers.

Treyarch Devs Intend To Address Community Feedback | Image via Twitter

As reported by ModernWarzone, Treyarch is keeping a close eye on community feedback regarding Black Ops 7. This statement was made in reference to the recent skins and cosmetics featured in games like Black Ops 6, which were far too cartoony for an IP like Call of Duty.

ModernWarzone asked the community to continue sharing feedback in the hopes of getting the developers to take action, but the community itself does not seem to be convinced by Treyarch’s statement.

In the replies, fans noted that Activision and Treyarch are likely to add such skins to Black Ops 7 regardless of their pre-launch statements. Many have also pointed out that existing Black Ops 6 skins will carry over to the game, completely ruining the atmosphere with characters from Beavis and Butthead, American Dad, and more.

As a potential solution, some have suggested leaving behind specific Black Ops 6 skins. However, it remains to be seen what steps Activision will take next.
