Assassin’s Creed Mirage Was Influenced By Fan Demand For Traditional Game

Huge Win For The Fans!

The Assassin’s Creed franchise started with narrative action games focused on historical settings. However, recent games like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Valhalla have expanded on the formula, presenting RPG games on a vast scale.

Many fans have enjoyed the recent departure from the traditional formula, and the RPG influence has allowed the franchise to branch out to newer audiences. Despite the success of the RPG trilogy, Ubisoft is returning to a more traditional Assassin’s Creed game with the next entry.

According to Creative Director Stephane Boudon, Assassin’s Creed Mirage was influenced by fan demand for a character-driven story on a smaller scale.

Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Mirage

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set in the Golden Age of Baghdad, starring protagonist Basim. The game is inspired by fan favorites like Assassin’s Creed 1 and aims to return to the franchise’s roots.

Speaking to GamesRadar, the Creative Director stated:

“Amongst our fans, we started hearing a desire for a character-driven story, focused on the core pillars of the first ACs in a more intimate scale. This was the starting point of the project.”

Assassin’s Creed Mirage places parkour and stealth at the forefront of the game once again. These crucial mechanics were not given much importance in the RPG trilogy, but fans of the older titles have been left wanting more since Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.

Ubisoft is looking to make a game that caters to fans in every way possible. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will also be shorter, providing approximately 18-20 hours of main story content. However, the French giant has not forgotten about the newer fans.

Last year, Ubisoft announced plans for the future of the franchise. Five new Assassin’s Creed games were announced, including another RPG game. Therefore, Ubisoft is looking to appeal to fans of both Assassin’s Creed styles.

The franchise has sold over 200 million copies worldwide, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an homage to the beginning of the legendary series. Ubisoft has yet to showcase any gameplay, but fans worldwide are patiently waiting to learn more about the game.
