Ubisoft is going through one of its worst phases of all time. As the stocks plummet and the company finds ways to stay afloat, their plans for the future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise have surfaced online.
A new rumor suggests that Ubisoft has plans to release 10 Assassin’s Creed games in the next 5 years.
Why it matters: Ubisoft seems to be trying to win back its fans with its critically acclaimed franchise. However, the recent Assasin’s Creed games haven’t been as good as the classics, so it’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for the franchise.
According to an industry insider, 10 Assassin’s Creed titles of various lengths and scopes are planned for the next 5 years. However, the roadmap might now be affected a bit due to the troubles at Ubisoft and the delay in the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
The projects that are rumored or are currently confirmed to be in the works include:
- Shadows
- Invictus
- Hexe
- Black Flag 4 Remake
- A game set during the Aztec Era
- Raid
- Jade
- Echoes
- Another remake
However, the plans for some of these games could have been altered because of everything going around. Notably, the lineup doesn’t include all AAA titles; it is a mix of remakes, multiplayer, and mobile games.
Another thing Insider Gaming has confirmed is the release window for Black Flag 4 Remake. The remake of unarguably one of the best Assassin’s Creed games is reportedly set to release in November 2025.
The source also received brief gameplay footage that showed Edward Kenway sailing a ship using Ubisoft’s upgraded Anvil Engine. But just like the other projects, the delay to Shadows might have affected plans for the remake as well.
