  • The tech giant revealed that this card is 6% faster than the RTX 5060 Ti.
  • There will be two variants, one will have 8 GB VRAM and the other will have 16 GB; both will release on 5 June.

AMD has been gaining traction in the tech market for a while now. This gaming giant has already far surpassed Intel when it comes to CPUs, so there is just no comparison anymore. However, when it comes to GPUs, Nvidia seems to be dominating in some instances.

AMD is famous for its budget-friendly yet high-end graphics cards, and has unveiled another one. RX 9060 XT has just been officially revealed with two variants and will be released on 5 June

Why it matters: The Radeon 9060 series was confirmed at CES 2025 when AMD introduced RDNA 4. This series was meant to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Nvidia’s launched 5060 series

Radeon has finally announced the launch date of its highly anticipated product, RX 9060 XT. It comes in two variants and will launch on 5 June. Do note that this GPU features a minor chip than the 9070, which was to be expected, of course. The chip features 2048 cores, 64 AI accelerators, 32 RT accelerators, 3.13 GHz, and 32 complete Units.

As mentioned above, it features a 3.13 GHz boost clock. This makes it the first ever GPU to have such a high frequency in this instance. Regarding the two variants, one will feature 8 GB of VRAM and the other will feature 16 GB

The 8 GB one will cost $299, while the 16GB one will be $349. The pricing here seems pretty reasonable, especially if you compare it with its rivals.

9060 vs 5060 ti
AMD’s newly unveiled card is 6% faster than Nvidia’s 5060 TI

Nvidia received a lot of backlash for still making a variant that has 8 GB VRAM for the 5060 series. This is because the fandom doesn’t think that the 8 GB VRAM is still viable in 2025. So, many were expecting Radeon to skip this variant but as you can see that didn’t happen.

Also, the RX 9060 XT 16 GB offers better performance than the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB. The former is 6% faster making it a more viable option in the budget friendly market. The presentation also revealed that it offers 15% gaming performance per dollar average across 40 games compared to the said card.
