Just recently, AMD quietly announced the Ryzen 5 9500F, and since then, the buzz around it has been growing rapidly. The tech giant unveiled this new addition to its Zen 5 processor lineup on September 6.

The company officially revealed that this powerful CPU delivers up to 27% faster performance compared to the Ryzen 5 7500F, a generous boost that’s sure to excite gamers and PC builders alike. The Ryzen 5 9500F will be available for purchase starting September 16.

According to AMD, the Ryzen 5 9500F delivers up to 24% higher performance in certain AAA titles like Baldur’s Gate 3 compared to its predecessor, the Ryzen 5 7500F.

However, when tested across a broader selection of ten popular AAA games, the average performance uplift comes in at around 9%. This means while some titles see big gains, others show more modest improvements, or even slight dips.

For example, performance is slightly lower in graphically demanding games like Black Myth: Wukong, but in titles such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring, and Far Cry 6, the Ryzen 5 9500F shows noticeable gains.

AMD also ran benchmarks on 10 competitive multiplayer games, where the 9500F delivered an average performance boost of 11% over the 7500F, something that could be valuable for gamers chasing higher frame rates in esports titles.

The Ryzen 5 9500F is built on AMD’s latest Zen 5 architecture and features 6 cores and 12 threads, a base clock speed of 3.8 GHz, and a boost clock of up to 5.0 GHz.

It has a 65W TDP and includes 32MB of L3 cache. While it lacks integrated graphics, it’s designed to pair with a dedicated GPU, making it a solid choice for gamers who already plan to use a discrete graphics card.
